Well apparently the last two months have gotten away from me! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas season and are now having a great start to your new year. We had a great, laid back Christmas. I didn't even make a Christmas dinner! (we just grazed on Christmas Eve's goodies) My mother-in-law made us a nice big dinner later that weekend, so we still got to eat turkey and stuffing. :) I got everything at the top of my Christmas list, which means I am now the proud almost owner of a Cricut Expression. Yes, I said almost. My mom ordered it for me and it still has yet to show it's pretty little buttons in the mail, but it should be here by the weekend. So be watching for fun new projects to come from my new toy....ugh...I mean tool. ;)

It's good to be home!

After being gone for a week due to a family tragedy, it's good to be home! I've spent this morning checking all my emails, Facebook, and then moved on to the AC Bailey forum. Imagine my surprise as I looked at the Layout of the Week and it was mine! Nothing like coming home to exciting news! This company is wonderful, we always have something fun going on. Check things out. I will be back in a few days (when I've had a chance to get my house back in order). I just can't wait to show you all how I did the glitter letters on this layout. It is the best trick I think I've ever learned! So make sure you come back on Tuesday to check it out! See you then.

In the midst of a busy birthday week!

This week my oldest daughter turned 10! My how time flies. I don't know about you, but birthdays consume a lot of our time. We of course can never have just one party. We always end up doing something on the actual day and then celebrate with a party of sorts on the nearest weekend. To say the least I have not had much for creative time in the last two weeks. I was able to finish up my cards for a swap I'm hosting in a little of my down time though.

I have always loved the colors of Halloween; the orange, green, & purple combo is just too cool to me. However I really don't care much for Halloween, so my thought was "What can we do with these colors and NOT use the Halloween theme." I posed this question to some friends in the form of a cardswap. The following birthday card is what I came up with for the challenge.

Friday's Find Finished!

I spent my Saturday afternoon by myself, so I decided to tackle the window. It was a little bit of a challenge. I wanted to make it so I could add different pictures as the years went on so I had to figure out how to make that possible with out gluing the back side of the window down. I ended up using hinges and large pieces of chipboard along with page turners to secure the back. Most of the embellishing was done on the front side of the glass to give it a 3D look. I love Stazon ink! It's paired with Fancy Pants & Autumn Leaves flourish stamps on top of the glass. One of my favorite CTMH paper lines, Silhouette, was used for the background paper. Of course no project is complete without a few flowers and fibers. I used Prima flowers and Bazzill blossom. Also used were miscellaneous ribbons and brads. The black spaces are where our pictures will go when I get them in. My hubby just walked in and really likes it so I guess I did good! I don't think I'm feeling the curtains though. I think I need a splash of red some where. It might be up for some more tweaking once I get the pictures in.Now I'm anxious to try another...

Friday's Find

Today I visited a friends cute little shabby chic boutique called "Saggy Drawers" in Nampa, Idaho. She took me to this window with the idea of using it to display layouts. I have never done a large piece of altered art like this so I am up for the challenge! I have Staz-On in mind and some swirls, other than that it will be a complete suprise. I don't have anything planned for the weekend so I'm going to give it a try, I'm so excited! As soon as I get it done I'll get it posted.

It's Official!

I decide to make an official relationship commitment today! I have joined the ranks of consultants today with AC Bailey Designs! I have been having such a good time over there and I just love their stuff. So come on over and check things out at AC Bailey Designs.

OK, so I'm caving in and trying this blog thing! With so many family and friends spread out all over the country it might not be a bad way to keep in touch. (Plus I was challenged to do it! Thanks to AC Bailey Designs). So you will probably see this site change a lot in the upcoming month till I get it the way I want it. I'm hoping to showcase some of my craftiness on here as well as some of my families and friends. I have a great circle of creative people around me. So stay tuned...you never know what may happen!
